Grown mainly for its leaves, which are ideal for flavouring a range of dishes, the Kaffir lime is a low, evergreen shrub. The fruit when ripe has a thick, yellowish green rind with sour flesh which is slightly bitter. The leaves of the Kaffir Lime are used to flavour many Asian dishes and curries, and is a special ingredient of Thai cooking. Kaffir Lime is especially suitable for container growing.
