Carissa 'Desert Star' is an attractive, compact evergreen shrub with rich, shiny green foliage. 'Desert Star' produces large, white, sweetly scented star shaped flowers throughout the warmer months of the year.
Ideal as a low growing hedge, rockery or feature plant. Can also be grown in containers for patio or courtyard areas. Will tolerate coastal exposure once established.
Prefers a full sun to partly shaded position in rich, well drained soil. Grows successfully from temperate to tropical regions.
Fertilise regularly using a slow release fertiliser, keep moist during warmer weather. Tip prune to shape if necessary. Use premium potting mix if planting in containers.
